Timing - From 2Ridetheworld
There will never be enough money and the ‘time’ will never be convenient to follow a dream. If you want to ride around the world, or do anything that you dream, you just have to figure out how badly you want to realize your dream and decide if you can accept the consequences of making it happen. Don’t keep putting your dreams and desires off to the future. You can always find a way to make it happen.

Watching the weather
It's rough being a biker in the depths of a Winter in England. Steadily my kit has been replaced with warmer, waterproof stuff but on some days it's just not enough!

Bike trips planned for 2012
The trips this year have been few and far between. But that's all about to change: Journeyman's Summer 12 could be the best yet! After 8 months of gruelling commuting through London the KTM is about to be unleashed on the twisties of Europe. Watch this space.

Is the Honda DCT a shift in thinking?
DCT stands for Dual Clutch transmission and it's fitted to the new Honda Crosstourer DCT. Simply put it works by mounting two clutches that manage odd and even gears, keeping the next, or last, gear ready to be selected. It brings common sense riding and it works. Open and shut overtakes and feathery commuting all benefit. We could be seeing a seismic shift towards more automatic innovations.

So the UK is now firmly in the grip of 'Adventure Biking'. We saw a decade of sportsbikes and race replica leathers in the noughties' preceded by a developing affection for japanese bikes. The GS explosion in 2010 was the most telling combat indicator. Suddenly it was acceptable to own an enduro bike. The rump of the UK biking fraternity was split. Previously off roaders were rural teenagers with illegal crossers, all taped up panels, no lights and cracked numberplates. Now respectable middle aged bikers were eyeing the new F800GS and relearning the lore of adventure travel. The only problem? The UK is heavily urbanised, built on and developed. We still haven't quite got to the bottom of where to ride yet.

Originally derived from the manner of movement of a squid...shooting off at speed, almost stopping to turn and then shooting off again, similar to a inexperienced motorcyclist.

An extremely rare animal with a short lifespan. Usually a new sport bike enthusiast with the reasoning of a lunatic, whom you might see thrashing on an R1 wearing sandals, shorts, and a tee.
When found lying motionless on the pavement, this creature transforms itself into a stream of blood, exposed flesh, and broken limbs. Hence the squid moniker.
